We've had an exciting month here at EST, beginning with our second birthday bash on a warm summer day in early June. Barry decided to do something fun with the whole team to make the day special.

So we took the Friday off and all went to Angela Grey’s Cookery School at Llanerch Vineyard. We took off our accountancy hats and donned aprons for a day of cooking with chef Angela Gray at her team.

It was a fabulous day where we had a taste test, wine tasting and prepared a five course French gourmet meal!

The delicious menu included:

Salmon Rillettes with Pickled Cucumber,
Chicken Breasts stuffed with Spinach, Soft Cheese and Herbs
Stuffed Provençal Tomatoes
Cheese Soufflés
Choux Buns with Raspberry Cream, Dark Chocolate Sauce and Crystalised Rose Petals.

We split into three teams; we had the girls on the starters Debs, Lauren and Tina. The boys were on the mains Barry, James and Richard; Emily and I were on the dessert. We enjoyed some friendly competition to make the best dish, as well as who could wow the cookery staff the most and win Chef of the Day. Richard won the individual prize, and even though we were all a little disappointed - he definitely deserved it.

The scenery and setting was perfect for the event and a great way for the team to celebrate two years of the business.

We had so much fun and we're grateful to Angela and her team for keeping us on track and following the recipes! It was great to see Barry stepping out of his boss shoes and wearing a pinny to serve us food. We all learnt new culinary skills and really enjoyed the whole cooking experience.

It was also a great way to welcome our newest member Lauren to the EST family. She has really taken to cookery since and has even started making her own bread at home.
